Beagles can face the following health problems. In the earliest age, the dogs run the risk of inter-vertebral disc disease, glaucoma, and cataracts. Therefore, buy the pups only from reputable breeders who use only the best dogs to breed. Pay attention to the health of the pups, to their vaccination, nutrition and behavior.

Beagles Breeders Pictures - Coat coloring

The color of the Beagle coat can be tri-color (black, white and tan); red and white; tan and white. The feet should be white and the tip of the tail should be white too. Coloring should have all that of purebred hounds. Their use in hunting needs such coloring to help follow them in the field easily since their waving white tips show the pack's location.

Beagles actually being pack dogs should have a companion dog to communicate. The dog should be of some other breed not of this very breed only. The Beagles are very friendly hounds and get along well with all the dogs. They still require your attention, as they are very active.

It is good if the dog has a fenced yard where it can entertain it whenever you are absent. It is also recommended to proof the row of fence against digging as these hounds, Beagles, are very good diggers.
